Welcome to the UC Irvine Taekwondo Club!
Whether you are a beginner or an advanced martial artist,
come out and train with us! We train throughout the academic
year. Our main focus is on WTF Olympic TKD.
This is an exciting period in UCI TKD. We compete in the
Pac-West Collegiate Taekwondo Conference. The
conference boasts some of the best collegiate TKD athletes
in the country. Please come out and show support for UCI!
Our club highly encourages competition, however, we do not
make it mandatory. We also offer belt promotions towards a
black belt. If you wish to join the club, you must be enrolled as
a student at UC Irvine with access to the ARC.
NOTE NEW & CURRENT MEMBERS:
At every practice, you must wear a complete uniform,
meaning a Taekwondo V-neck Dobok (top & bottom) with
your designated belt. The uniform must also not have any
non-UCI logos (ie, your old school name). If you do not have
a dobok, please wear comfortable workout clothes that do
not restrict body movement. We can place an order for a new
uniform the same day. It is also highly recommended to
maintain personal hygiene, ie, short nails, clean uniforms, and
no jewelry. Last but not least, please refer to higher ranks as
"Sir" or "Ma'am" as a sign of respect.
